HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

PINKY D. PACIT

HUMMS 11 C

“The humanities need to be defended today against the encroachments of physical science, as they once needed to be against the encroachment of theology.”

Irving Babbitt

HUMSS is an abbreviation for Humanities and Social Sciences. This track focuses on the analysis of arts, culture, politics, and society. Political science, anthropology, linguistics, psychology, and communication are all involved. HUMSS is a popular strand these days because they are the future servants in our country.

One of the benefits of this track is that it will help you improve your speaking skills and boost your self-confidence. I believe that many students are introverted because they are not open about their communication. This track will assist you in reaching your life’s objectives. The HUMSS strand focuses on helping students improve their writing, reading, and comprehension skills. It also helps you to fasten your seat belt when you start college and strengthens your logical reasoning. Many fundamental skills, such as critical thinking, analysis, and creativity, are taught in the humanities. You will be able to deal in various forms in high demand in the twenty-first century.

There’s no appearance of the disadvantage of taking this strand because this teaches the helpful information that you will use in the future. Humanities and social sciences broaden your capacity in professional fields, says Professor Richard Branson, head of the Department of English at Aberystwyth University.
